Webinar “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”
imcsap.org – The third activity of IMCS Asia Pacific Women Empowerment and Gender Equity Commission, to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023, was through an International webinar with the theme “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.” The webinar was moderated by Mr. Aditya Rodriguez, who presented and showed that men and women work and support each other.
The first speaker, Ms. Elizabeth Gamarra, demonstrated her ideas regarding the challenges girls and women face in the digital world. She is a former two-time TEDx speaker, Fulbrighter at IE University, Rotary Peace Fellow, McNair Fellow, and upcoming USA Peacebuilding & Reconciliation Delegate to the G20 Youth Summit. Also, a Japanese Government MEXT graduate doctoral fellow and researcher at the Peace Research Institute at International Christian University (ICU).
The second speaker, Ms. Regine Guevara; a young philanthropist, researcher, and practitioner for peace and security, especially as it concerns the ASEAN and Global South; gave her speech regarding what we have in the digital world nowadays and the opportunities for everyone (young people, men, and women) in the digital world. Currently, she is CEO of SDG Realty Inc. and Producer of AsiaTV Studios which curates sustainability content on Web 1.0-4.0.
Aside from the two speakers above, also had Ms. Annika Anna; a member of the Pax Romana Jurist Commission from the student movement All Indian Catholic University Federation (AICUF) also a Social Worker in Aashraya (NGO) which works for the upliftment of the downtrodden, who has shared the role of women in digital transformation and how we empower them.
For us, truly inspiring to see the smiling faces of so many female leaders and stakeholders who are paving the way in their own communities – Bangladesh, Philippines, India, Peru, etc. Therefore, we would like to greet all the amazing women in the world with a Happy International Women’s Month! Every day is Women’s Day.
