The Catholic Peace Forum (CPF) serves as an open platform for Catholic organizations and individuals committed to peacebuilding, grounded in Catholic Social Teaching. This commitment encompasses influential documents such as Pacem in Terris (1963), Laudato Si’ (2015), Fratelli Tutti (2020), and the Pope’s messages for World Peace Day (1 January).

The CPF is a collaborative initiative involving several Catholic peace and youth organizations, including Pax Christi Korea (PCK), Pax Christi International (PCI), and Pax Romana International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS), alongside their partner organizations.

The CPF aims to facilitate the active involvement of the Catholic Church in the global peace movement and the UN’s peace agenda. Key areas of focus include:

  • International Day of Peace (21 September)
  • Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW)

Furthermore, the CPF seeks to revitalize and strengthen international solidarity networks among Catholic youth movements and organizations dedicated to peace. This objective is pursued by engaging with initiatives such as:

  • UN International Youth Day (21 August)
  • UN Agenda for Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS)
  • World Youth Day of the Catholic Church

These efforts respond to emerging challenges and threats to peace, with the upcoming 2027 Seoul World Youth Day presenting a significant opportunity for participating organizations to advance their vision and mission.
