Jubilee of Movements and Communities, 7-8 June 2025

From meaningful dialogue to joyful celebration, IMCS Pax Romana actively participated in the Annual Meeting of Ecclesial Movements and New Communities (4–6 June) and the Jubilee of Movements and Communities (7–8 June 2025) in Rome. The events brought together hundreds of leaders and members of ecclesial movements from around the world, culminating in a beautiful Mass celebrated by Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter’s Square.

Representing the voice of students and young leaders, Ms. Bertha Samponu, Regional Coordinator of IMCS Asia Pacific, took part in the dialogues, sharing perspectives on youth engagement, synodality, and the role of movements in building a Church that listens and accompanies. Through workshops and encounters, IMCS reaffirmed its mission of forming young people to be active protagonists in the Church and society.

The Jubilee Mass with Pope Leo XIV was a moment of profound communion and renewal. In his homily, the Pope offered this message of encouragement to all movements:

“Movements and communities are not on the margins of the Church — you are its beating heart. Let your charisms continue to build bridges of peace, care for the forgotten, and accompany the young with courage and faith.” Pope Leo XIV, St. Peter’s Square, 8 June 2025

This participation marked another step in our Jubilee journey as IMCS continues to walk with the global Church toward 2025 and beyond — fostering a spirit of synodality, hope, and global solidarity.
