This June, the tranquil city of Assisi—the home of St. Francis—became a living witness to the Catholic Church’s call for just peace, ecological conversion, and disarmament. The Assisi Catholic Peace Forum (CPF) convened 30 participants from across the globe: 15 in-person delegates gathered at Casa di Ospitalità Maria Immacolata, and 15 others joined online, representing Catholic youth, student, and peace movements.
Co-organized by Pax Romana IMCS/ICMICA, Pax Christi International, IYTC, and IYCS, the Forum served as a space of reflection, advocacy, and community action under the Jubilee Year 2025 theme: “Pilgrims of Hope.”
Expert speakers from Pax Christi, the International Peace Bureau, and the Idente Missionaries enriched the sessions, alongside inspiring reflections from young leaders in IMCS, IYCS, and IYTC.
The Forum culminated in the adoption of the Assisi Appeal for Peace, a powerful declaration rooted in Gospel nonviolence and Catholic Social Teaching. Key calls to action included:
In-person participants hailed from Indonesia, Korea, Italy, Belgium, Ethiopia, Portugal, and beyond. Online participants joined from Austria, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines—reflecting the Forum’s inclusive and international spirit.
