In August 2024, the IMCS AP-Indigenous Peoples Youth Commission (IPYC) launched an inspiring online campaign to raise awareness about Indigenous Peoples Month. This campaign focused on collecting and sharing powerful statements from individuals across the region, using social media to amplify the voices of Indigenous communities. The goal was to promote understanding, respect, and support for Indigenous rights, particularly in the digital age.
The campaign spread across multiple platforms, allowing participants to share their thoughts and experiences with a global audience. Check out the inspiring stories and contributions on the following links:
In addition to the campaign, we successfully hosted the “Youth Voices for Indigenous Rights and Digital Development” virtual event on August 10-11, 2024. This online gathering provided a vital platform for young people to discuss and learn about the rights of Indigenous communities in today’s digital world.
The event featured thought-provoking discussions, where participants explored the intersection of technology and Indigenous rights, and how digital platforms can empower marginalized communities.
