Introduction:
On February 16 & 17, IMCS AP organized an in-person Continued Learning and Action Program (CLAP) Workshop focusing on Ecumenism and Inclusiveness. The event took place at St. Xavier College, Maitighar, Kathmandu, to provide educational and reflective sessions to the members of IMCS Nepal.

Workshop Overview:
The workshop commenced with an exploration of the concept of building harmonious communities. Participants were encouraged to reflect upon their daily lives and community dynamics, particularly in the context of fostering harmony amidst religious, racial, and gender diversity.

 

Content Highlights:
Sr. Taskila Nicholas, serving as the workshop facilitator, delved into the definitions, practices, and approaches of ecumenism and inclusiveness. Special attention was given to contextualizing these concepts within the South Asian landscape and the current socio-political situation in Nepal.

Key Learnings:
Participants gained insights into human rights violations prevalent in Nepal, fostering a deeper understanding that facilitated critical analysis and strategic planning for follow-up action within their respective communities.

Attendance:
Approximately 25 participants from IMCS Nepal members attended the 2-day workshop, contributing to a diverse and enriching exchange of perspectives.

Conclusion:
The Continued Learning and Action Program (CLAP) Workshop on Ecumenism and Inclusiveness served as a platform for fostering dialogue, reflection, and actionable insights among IMCS Nepal members. The event not only deepened participants’ understanding of key concepts but also empowered them to actively engage in promoting harmony and inclusivity within their communities.

Future Endeavors:
IMCS AP remains committed to organizing similar educational initiatives aimed at equipping its members with the knowledge and tools necessary for effecting positive change in their respective contexts.
