A productive and inspiring meeting took place in Seoul between Ms. Bertha Samponu, Fr. Pietro Yang Ju Yul, the Executive Secretary/Director of Planning for World Youth Day 2027, and Ms. Stacey. The discussions centered around the critical preparations for WYD 2027 and the pivotal role that IMCS Pax Romana can play in empowering young people as catalysts for peace and justice.

    From 2025 onwards, IMCS Pax Romana will collaborate closely with the World Youth Day planning committee to develop impactful programs that inspire youth to assume leadership roles in promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and global solidarity. This strategic partnership aims to equip young leaders with the necessary tools and platforms to become effective agents of change in their communities and beyond.

    The Key Voices Driving WYD 2027 Forward

    Alongside Ms. Samponu, notable attendees included Archbishop Antonio Ledesma SJ from the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and Pax Christi Philippines, Mr. Anselmo Lee from Pax Christi Korea and the Steering Committee of the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC), and LapMan Law, a member of the Chaplain, Animator, and Elders Commission of IMCS.

    World Youth Day 2027 is envisioned as more than just an event—it’s a movement that will mobilize youth to shape a future built on unity, hope, and action for a better world. The preparations are focused on creating a vibrant and inclusive environment where young people can share their experiences, learn from one another, and collectively work towards a common goal of peace and justice.
