Raising Faith and Action for Our Common Home

Last Saturday, I had the honor of serving as a panelist for the Laudato Si’ Week Webinar, an opportunity that allowed me to raise my voice and share my personal journey as a young catechist from the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM).

This experience was more than a speaking engagement—it was a chance to reflect deeply on how Laudato Si’ has shaped both my personal life and the life of my movement. As I prepared for the session, I explored five guiding questions that helped me rediscover Pope Francis’ powerful call to protect our common home—not just in words, but through daily actions and values.

During the webinar, I spoke about how Laudato Si’ inspires our weekly activities—from promoting care for creation, to small acts like sorting trash, planting trees, or reducing plastic use. These “small beginnings,” I realized, are where real change starts.

After my sharing, my fellow panelist from PMKRI Indonesia and I received thoughtful questions from participants. It was moving to see how passionate other youth are about turning awareness into practical environmental action.

This moment reminded me that I, too, have a voice that matters in global conversations. I was especially touched to hear international participants express concern and interest in the environmental issues facing my country, Vietnam. That solidarity made me feel seen—and even more committed.

In conclusion, this webinar was not just another event. For me, it was a call to action—a reminder that silence is not an option. Each of us is invited to speak up, act with courage, and encourage others to do the same. I’m grateful for this experience and more determined than ever to live out Laudato Si’—in my life, and in my community.
