Patrick Drishya Purification: ‘Photosynthesis-2020’isa photography competition organized by the executive committee of BCSM and supported by IMCS Asia Pacific aiming to create awareness for the sustainability of our environment. The competition was arranged on World Environment Day 2020.

Through the competition, it was aimed that members would bring out the injustice happening towards the environment and how to save it. In this way, they would grow care for the environment and would feel the importance of loving nature. They would realize the impact of the environment on our day to day life.

Various categories were selected for the competition which included: terms like Ego Vs Eco, Environment Conservation, 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), and regular lifestyle. The competition was designed only for the present and former members of BCSMfrom 8 dioceses and 26 units.

As a first-time competition of this sort, we got a total of 28 participants from all dioceses combined. Our goal was to keep the competition as a part of an awareness campaign for our environment. We received in a total of 74 photographs in the 4 categories combined. In this competition we accepted both Mobile and DSLR photography from each participant and each participant could submit 3 photographs maximum. The winner was determined based on the number of the react (like love, care, wow, etc.) on each photo (20% of total marks) and also marks obtained from judges (80% of total marks). The judges for this competition were: AbrarFahim Choudhury, Nahid Hossain, Tajbiul Hasan Pantha, and Justin Tonmoy D’ Cruze.

A total of 17 photos was selected as a Winning photo from 14 participants. Winners will be awarded books and certificates on National Conference and all participants will receive a certificate of participation.
