imcsap.org – In celebrating the International Mother Language Day 2023, the Indigenous People’s Youth Commision conducted a webinar that focused on “Challenges and Opportunities: Preserving Mother Language in a Diverse and Multicultural Society in the World.”
The purpose of the webinar was to explore and share the importance of and how youth can preserve their mother language in a diverse and multicultural society in the world.
The three-speakers shared the challenges faced by young and elderly people now in preserving their own language, mother tongue. Technology is one of the challenges and also becomes the opportunities for this generation to preserve and promote their mother language. They need to start by themself, family, community, national, regional, and globally.
The webinar was wrapped up by the same thinking of the students who participated by stating, “Let’s love, preserve, promote your mother language, as your identity.”
Happy International Mother Language Day 2023!
